If you don't feel like reading the following few paragraph's, here's a condensed version:
1. Out of school, stuck with dial-up and crummy laptop.
2. Found pen to tablet. Happy.
3. Feeling responsible. Kinda sucks.
4. Transformer died night before open house.
5. Open house was perfect.
6. Epic cake.
7. Watched Repo! and danced, fire.
8. Pancakes on Sunday.
9. Tour of hometown.
10. VBS this week, babysitting for neighbors. No VBS for me, unhappy 1st graders.
11. Must find recipe for candy bubbles.
12. Big storm for short time.
If none of that makes sense, you may as well just read the following.
Schools out so my internet fails. My laptop is even more fail, the strip connecting the screen to the rest of the computer is screwed. But I've talked about that before.
I found my tablet pen while cleaning my room for my open house, which is AWESOME. I might actually do some work now!
Suddenly, I have a newfound sense of... responsibility. It could have something to do with the fact that I've graduated, and can no longer just act like a child whenever. Or maybe that's just the crazy talking. I dunno.
My open house was awesome. STESSFUL LIKE YOU WOULD NEVER BELIEVE. The night before, as I was preparing to decorate the basement for the "rave", stuff started going out. Outlets weren't working, lights were flickering, all sorts of fun stuff. My stepdad went around and tried figuring it out, and got it just about back to normal. We hoped for the best and went to bed.
Sometime between 2:30 AM and 5 AM (from when I fell asleep to when mom woke up), our transformer died. I woke up to the sound of a generator, as some guys replaced the transformer.
So, we prepared for the open house the best we could. Using generator power, we were able to keep the important things on. Running water, fridge, and kitchen appliances. As we're preparing a meal for 300 people. We had two roasting pans cooking the stir fry, and crossing our fingers that the guys would finish by noon so we could use the oven and the rest of the roasting pans. Lucky for us, nothing else went wrong for the rest of the day.
Guests began showing up, and everything was perfect. The egg rolls and crab ragoon were heated and crispy, the stir fry was excellent, and the california rolls were... fishy and yum. The cake was EPIC.
My friends came, a lot of relatives, and people I haven't seen since I was way little. We watched Repo! The Genetic Opera, since Carrie brought it over. After that we went downstairs and danced and screwed around with the glow sticks, as per the usual.
At some point we decided it was high time for a fire, so we went outside. It promptly began raining. We didn't care though. Eventually Carrie, Amanda, DASHley, Panda, Ashlee, and my sister + her friends went inside out of the light sprinkle. Ken, Alyssa and Ted stayed outside with me. When we finally decided to go back inside, Ken had to leave, so I dropped Ted off at his house and Ken at Shookie's.
Alyssa helped me with my cards that I got when I returned. I'm not saying how much I got, but I AM saying that I'm going to buy a new computer (something for college), a DSi (something for me), and still have over half of it left over.
The next morning, I got up early to pick Ken up and bring him back to the house. Everyone was a total crab, so I took Ken into town to show him where he'd be spending his summer. He has a job working as a counselor at the camp down the road, so I'll actually be able to see him more than once or twice a month for a few hours. Emma's birthday party was later that day, so I got even MORE epic cake.
Yesterday was the first day of VBS, where I had planned on volunteering this week. However, I'm babysitting for my neighbors. One of the kids decided that he didn't like VBS today, so I'll be home for the rest of the week. Which is kind of a bummer because my first grade group will miss me. Apparently, I'm good with kids, they love me. I did not know that.
The best part about my babysitting job is that it's every other week, so I'll actually have some time to myself, which will be really nice.
Dunno what I'm gonna do about tomorrow, I guess I should look up some rainy day activities to keep the kids entertained... I can watch them here or at my neighbor's house, but it's easier to keep them under control here.
Oh yeah, and we just had a huge storm pass through for about... 5 seconds last night. I hope Ken didn't get freaked out, as he's staying in a cabin that likely has no basement xD

And thanks!
